How to freeze thoughts in midair / A note to my girls
There was the bet meant to be lost. I found it funny that you decided to sell your souls for chocolate chip cookies. So, I bet you couldn't do the exercise or get 80% average on the test, I really don't remember now, and you took the bait and did quite well.
Oh, at times you can be so noisy and at times unruly that I just want to have a magic remote and put you on mute. But then I have a change of heart and I see you behind the veil of noisiness, pretense and artificial coolness. Once I peak behind the veil I can see loveliness, creativity, energy, an odd crush, strength, perseverance, ambition, search for one's purpose and questioning everything.
There you are munching on the cookies your energies calmed by the balmy chocolate. Your last thoughts frozen in the air. "Mum will kill me if she finds out about the 3 in Math!" "I hope I have the best test next time. It's not fair that nobody listens to me. Then, to be honest I don't always listen to the others. But I mean no harm." "What kind of sorcery is this cookie?" "I should have turned left at the shop. I got lost again on my way here. Did my sister take my books? Where are they?" "I'd rather keep quiet for the rest of the class. I don't like sharing opinions with other people." "Hard work pays off." "I get it now! It's easy!" "My Math teacher is crazy!" "I can't wait to share the news with my friends from different places!" "This can be difficult at times." "I need to improve my time for the rubik's cube."
If I look deeper behind those thoughts I imagine seeing the future. I see you bright and strong, bravely standing up for yourselves and above all, supporting each other through the hurdles in life.
As for the recipe, it's simple. Butter, sugar, flour, an egg, vanilla extract, some cocoa and of course chocolate chips. Great for baking with a friend.
