Touche
If you are like me, I am certain you enjoy the occasionall glass of wine or rakija and salad before lunch. I am also certain that you analyse the menu like the doctor analyses your blood work trying to find what to drink when it isn't beer o'clock or wine o'clock or when you've had enough coffee and mineral water and when in desperation you reach for Schweppes tonic. You rationalize that it is the lesser of all the other available evils like sugar filled juices, for example. Couple of weeks ago I ordered Apple and peach juice and my hair stood on an end when I read the label. A small 0.25l bottle had 2 spoonfuls of sugar.... I don't take that much sugar in three days let alone in 2 hours.
For these reasons I declare war on drinks in cafe and I'm making my own ale, ginger ale. All I need are 24 hours, plastic bottle, funnel, reasonable amount of sugar, like a spoonful per half litre, dry yeast, ground ginger 2/3 of a finger and fresh water. The next day there is a refreshing not too sweet drink. Touche!
