Perfect pizza

Recently I have become very versatile in making pizza dough. I didn't know it was so easy. The ratio flour to water is 2:1 you add some salt some yeast and some sugar. And that's it! You make a very sticky smoothish dough and let it rest for 10-15-30 minutes depending on what else you have to attend to. Shape it, divide it and from a cup of flour you can make 2 small pizzas. Spread it with a rolling pin or with oily hands and there's your pizza. Top it with whatever your heart or stomach desires. Bake it for 10-15 minutes at 200C,  let it cool and eat it. And you'll always know what went in your pizza dough. It takes 30-40 minutes of your life.
Why am I sharing how long it takes? Because it got me thinking. I started wondering why we rely too much on convenience food for simple things such as pizza dough. I was exploring the idea that cooking is quality time with yourself while making something for yourself and others. Yes, the kitchen will be messy afterwards but to be honest, it took me 7 minutes to get the kitchen in order including scrubbing off the dough that had stuck on the counter. Food is sustinence, food is fuel and if you care what fuel you put in your car then you should care at least ten times as much what fuel you put in your body.
Convenience food is a nice invention but as awareness on ingredients grows,  it needs rethinking. Therefore, for the time being I chose to know what's in my pizza dough. And it's dead easy to make.
