A different kind of food
At this particular event we were served a buffet of various cuisines. First it was the European cuisine with its exquisite and delicate sounds that take you on a trip down the Danube or up high in the Alps. The chef, Felix Lajko opened our appetite for delicious landscapes and lovely music.
What followed was a Macedonian mish-mash with a twist. Foltin, the local delicatessen, fed us with energetic tunes and surrealistic stories. As it appears they were to be the entree to an exquisite main African dish. The first African dish was cooked and served by a well known chef, Mulatu Astatke, who lead the sous-chefs well and gave them room to present us with their signature dishes.
As the guests were hungry for African food we were served something from the other part of the continent. This time in the form of something addictive like music you can dance to. Jupiter and Okwes International, were a bit addictive, just like chocolate and just like having a sweet tooth, or in this case a dancing bug we couldn't stop dancing.
By now we had reached the point when you know that soon you'll be full and maybe it's good to stop. Alas, the temptation was too big to resist, and we dived into something exotic presented by Geomungo Factory, a Korean dish in the milieu of the buffet's international cuisine. The Balkan dish that followed brought us back from the far East chef Zoran Predin and chef Kukuruzovich prepared a lovely tufahija of songs for desert.
Finally we were served a digestive begining with a familiar tune by the girls from Las Migas and Carmino who soothed our souls with her lovely songs and voice. In the end I couldn't resist the last sweet from the plate and thoroughly enjoyed The Globe in a very local and particular setting.
