C is for Cheese Cookies and Chicken
It all started with a web page I had found on another web page that led to thousands of others web pages and blogs. It all ended with a Sunday family lunch. In between it was the weekend with all its pleasures and pains, philosophical and not so philosophical questions, social and anti-social behaviour, decisions and regretting some of those decisions.

As I said it all started with a web page and this lead to bookmarking few other web pages. In one of them there was this cookie recipe. I decided to try it out it was simple and cheap, plus I had all the ingredients in hand. 250g butter 375g flour 125g cocoa one package vanilla sugar 250g Castor sugar pinch of salt and finely grated orange zest. The procedure couldn't have been simpler, the butter and sugar and zest are mixed until fluffy, add all the dry ingredients, shape a log, wrap it in a plastic and freeze it for about 2 hours. Two hours later and a deal to go out I took out the log from the freezer and as the recipe said I cut it into small circles and baled them for exactly 15min at 250C. Five minutes into the baking and the circles had melted into one big square cookie. I was a bit disappointed by the shape, and about half an hour later I was also disappointed by the taste. It was too buttery. Decision number one for the weekend- don't trust all American recipes.
C is for cheese.
Although the cookies recipe had let me down, I looked on the bright side and was looking forward to the night ahead. I got at my friends place and the wine started pouring and when we were out of wine we turned to vodka and there was cheese and spices and alufolie and a toaster. So we got a bit creative and grilled some cheese with spices and some plain cheese. The trick is to put the cheese on a hot grill and leave it for 5-6 minutes.
C is for chicken.
Marinated chicken with garlic, lemon juice and olive oil. The recipe said to leave the chicken overnight to marinate with the boiled and squashed garlic and the lemon juice and olive oil. The following day after baking it for about an hour or so the result was unbelievably tasteful and well flavoured tender chicken. I couldn't stop dipping the sauce.
