Beer stuff
It is widely known that beer itself is food. Some dispute its alimentation characteristics because of its liquid state. However, beer is food because one pint has as many calories as a slice of bread (90-200).
Being food as we shall accept, beer doesn't need cooking, but humans as we are we play and combine different types of food. Thus, we can use beer for fried zucchini, or in a bread dough, but as I have discovered the best use is in a sauce or with pancakes. A sausage in a sauce of stout beer mmmmm.
This dish is best served with local lager beer from Pivovarski Dum (the place where they make the sausage and the beer).The beer can only be compared to homemade food which is the tastiest thing on earth and which only makes you want more. Then the lovely tasty beery lunch is followed by a dessert. Pancakes with beer jam, yes beer jam, lager and stout, the dark one is sweeter and stronger.
For a moment I felt like Alice in wonderland, but as Alice was mesmerised by the Cheshire cat I was about to be mesmerised by the green beer with a very strong taste of nettle.
I took a sip and I was in a place that smelled like freshly cut grass. Needless to say I didn't want to open my eyes and as Alice I enjoyed my journey through the beer wonderland.
