What's the first thing that pops into your mind when someone mentions beer?
Bud, Skopsko, Belgium, Lager, Bock, Czech Republic, Pilsner...
This and the following few posts will be about beer, Czech beer to be precise.
Lets get on our journey then. We start at the city square in Prague, the one with the Astronomical Clock, we turn right, that is on the side of the Death and the Turk on the clock and we follow Tyn street. We pass by the cathedral and we pass a lot of cafes and pubs, right in front of us is a well known place Chapeau Rouge. It's packed with tourists and with locals, don't be discouraged, the place is very relaxed and friendly. It is here that I taste my first Czech beer-Staropramen, drought. It's mouthwatering, it glides to your throat. As every beer it's bitter and sweet but the sweetness gently overcomes the bitter . It's nine and it's still daytime and the beer glides down mhmmmm...First impressions
