Praise to the Salad

(too much "The Tudors" may damage thy expression)

I love May. The days are longer, the flowers bloom, couples kiss on every step, there's fresh fruit and veggies...What's not to love in May?
If you ask me the best part of May are the salads. They come in all shapes and sizes and what is more they're always fresh and in season. The tomatoes taste like tomatoes, the cucumbers are full of water and the whole market smells of fresh green peppers. I think i could only live on salads in May.
Here are my two favourite:

Lettuce and radishes salad.

The only boring thing about this salad is washing the lettuce. Wash as much as you plan to eat. Don't leave the lettuce in water because the vitamins dissolve. The radishes liven up the colour and add taste to the grassy lettuce.
Anyway, clean and chop the lettuce, clean and slice the radishes (clean and make radish roses ;)).
Add some salt, oil, and plenty of vinegar.
Pour a glass of rakiya and enjoy your meal.

Tomatoes, Cucumber and Green Pepper Salad (or Shopska without onion and Cheese)

This salad is not as boring as the first one, in terms of cleaning :). Wash all the vegetables and chop them in a big bowl. Add salt, olive/sunflower oil and mix the salad. Take a slice of bread and dip in the dressing. Eat and try to stop. (Make sure you have enough bread and cheese)
