Green Beans
There are times when we yearn for some home cooked meal. On a day like that it is practically impossible to decide what to eat. Everything seems tasteless and we end up wishing for mum's meals. After half hour discussion about what to eat we decided on green beans.
There was an onion in the fridge a can of tomatoes and a bag of green beans.I strongly suggest using fresh green beans or ones that were frozen at home, but desperate times call for desperate measures and I used frozen green beans from the supermarket.
Dice and fry the onion, cube the tomatoes and heat the oil. Fry the onion until glassy and add a carrot if you have if not proceed to the tomatoes, some water the green beans and some spices such as salt and all purpose spice known here in the Balkans as "Vegeta". Let it simmer for about 20 minutes at medium heat.
Meanwhile make the salad, pour a glass of rakiya. After 20 minutes the meal is ready and it's taste is very close to mum's cooking. :)
