Chocolate almond slices without chocolate

When do you know that something is wrong with the recipie?
When you start cooking by the book.:)
The moment I had prepared all the ingredients I knew something was missing.
The list goes like this 4 cups allpurpose flour 2tsp baking powder 1 1/3 cup powder sugar, vanilla sugar 1 egg and 1 1/3 cup butter. As it turned out there was too much dry matter that needed to be kneaded together so I added about 2-3 tbsp milk. The milk softened the mix and made it possible to knead it into a smooth dough.
Anyway, after making the two colours, 1/3 is left white and 2/3 are coloured brown with cocoa and almonds and a bit of rum brandy or homemade coignac, came the most demanding task- making the rolls. If I had all the basic equipment, I wouldn't see this as an arduous task. I don't have a rolling pin, so I used a jar instead (thoroughly washed, of course). The jar has a small working surface and is difficult to work with and the dough is spread unevenly. Although looks matter, with food taste matters more.
The recipie said "leave the rolls in the refrigirator overnight". I don't like recipies that require thinking two weeks in advance. Instead of leaving the dough overnight I put it in the freezer for 30-45 min.
Meanwhile, I did the dishes, skyped a bit and decided to write a blog on cooking and strted writing it. Tme flies when you're having fun.
Finally, I took out the rolls from the freezer cut them out in pieces placed them in the baking pan and after 15 min and a bit more if you get carried away you've got grandma's biscuits :)
